2010 Olympic Moments

Well, the 2010 Winter Olympics have ended and boy, we were served quite a treat. Whether it was lightning fast short-track speedskating races, agonizing cross-country skiing races or high-flying snowboarding tricks, Vancouver had a lot to offer. Without any further ado, I give you my top 5 moments of the Vancouver Games.

My Top 5 2010 Olympic Moments
5. Bode Miller's Gold Medal Run: The self-proclaimed former drunk came through huge for the Americans, giving them their first gold in the Super Combined in something like 1 million years.

4. New Events!: SnowCross and SkiCross made their debuts and were exceptionally fun to watch. You can't go wrong with 4 people racing down a mountain, flying over ramps, taking turns at high speeds and dodging other boarders. Great work on those additions.

3. Shaun White and his Double McDeezy (or whatever it was called): The Flying Tomato gave us great theater early on in the Olympics with his in-air tricks. And how about that victory lap? That has to rank up there for the greats of all time.

2. U.S./Canada 1st Round Hockey Match: This gave the Americans hope, and they took advantage of every bit of it. Silencing the die-hard Canadian crowd gives them extra points, too.

1. U.S./Canada Hockey Gold Medal Game: Yeah, we lost, but wow, it wasn't without a fight. Zach Parise's game tying goal with star goalie Ryan Miller on the bench pushed the epic battle in to overtime where, well, you know what happened next. The best hockey game of the tournament on its biggest stage will hopefully bring more fans to the resurgent game that is hockey.
